Change can be hard. It puts before us our most tender attachments and asks us to release them in faith, knowing that the dying process will be transcended, that life will continue anew, and that what comes will be in service to us.
Many are now facing great changes. Some are exciting, others devastating; yet new life is always the promise. We are eternal in our formless state, and great creators.
Here is a song I wrote many years ago during a difficult transition. Its theme has been alive for me again, so I recorded it and offer it now to you as a gift.
May it comfort and inspire you during your own great changes.
With love,
Donna
Phoenix
She cries, and towers fall
And with them go the rules and the prison walls
And in the burning is the yearning for the new
To break through
And watch the phoenix rise
Burn . . . burn, burn down
Ages of pain all falling to the ground
She flies to watch it rain
Nothing here will ever be the same
And in the madness, the sadness is renewed
She’s come unglued
Now watch her phoenix rise
This is her story
The glory is her due
If she only knew
Now watch her phoenix rise
Watch her phoenix rise
Watch her phoenix rise
